Using wooden poles to usher their boat through shallow water, Russian hunters return from duck hunting in marshes near a fishing camp on Kamchatka's east coast. Only hunters sanctioned by the cooperative are allowed to have guns. They will eat these ducks themselves, as there is no way to get them to market fresh from the camp, which is not connected to any road. Salmon caught at the fishing camp, on the other hand, are salted and will eventually reach market by boat.
