APPRAISER: You no doubt have noticed the date here, 1835. This is sort of the title of the clock. Made by C. & N. Jerome. Bristol, Connecticut.

GUEST: Chauncey and Noble?

APPRAISER: That's exactly right. Chauncey and Noble Jerome were brothers. Now, the reason I like this clock is because it's a very good example of what I consider the Greek revival kind of look. It was very popular in this country in the 1820s and '30s. And then down here was a reverse painting, which is original and, you know what we say about original. Don't mess with it. Notice that it has the label of C. & N. Jerome. It's in a little tattered condition. I think that the replacement value of this clock would bring about $3,500, something in that range.
