GUEST: Well, I inherited it from my Great-Aunt Lil. I've made assumptions that it's Native American. I've always been so curious about, like, what these symbols mean. I, I have no idea. So, I'm very, that's why I'm here.
APPRAISER: Well, I'm about to disappoint you.
GUEST (laughing): Oh, because it's not Native American?
APPRAISER (laughing): Because I'm not sure what all the symbols mean, either. Oh. But I can tell you one thing.
GUEST: Okay.
APPRAISER: It is a Navajo weaving.
GUEST: Okay.
APPRAISER: When you unrolled this weaving to the table, everybody was, like, scratching their head, because nobody had ever seen anything like this. And frankly, we're all stumped as to what the figure is depicting. Pictorial weavings are highly desirable to Navajo weaving collectors.
GUEST: Oh.
APPRAISER: But I don't know how they would receive this, because it's so unusual. My suspicion is that this would be received pretty strongly. Maybe $4,500 to $6,500...
GUEST: Mm-hmm.
APPRAISER: ...would be a good sort of pre-auction estimate.
GUEST: Okay.
