APPRAISER: And they're probably from the middle part of the 19th century, probably the 1860s, 1870s. The artist is here, is Louis Hottot, and he specialized in these Middle Eastern scenes. When you look at them, you might think that they're made out of bronze, but they're not. They're made out of what we call spelter, or white metal, and then they're painted. A retail price for the pair of these would be about $5,000.
