GUEST: Well, it comes from my wife's great-grandfather. They lived in Puebla, Mexico.

APPRAISER: In Mexico?

GUEST: Right. And he was an architect.

APPRAISER: It's a great example of the Art Nouveau period.

GUEST: Right.

APPRAISER: Okay?

GUEST: Mm-hmm.

APPRAISER: So we're talking around turn of the century, and it's Loetz-style, so it would have been made in Bohemia. You've got a great-sized bowl, you've got these scalloped edges, you've got so much movement within the glass itself. But then this base, with the, um, scrolling foliage, it's just such a great example of Art Nouveau workmanship. Now, this is not a signed piece by Loetz, so that's why I'm calling it Loetz-style.

GUEST: Mm-hmm.

APPRAISER: But it's a lovely thing, made around circa 1900. It's a really pretty piece. I would say retail price, it's around $2,000.

GUEST: Oh, nice. Nice.

APPRAISER: Thank you for bringing it.
