Update: November 30, 2022
In September 2022, ANTIQUES ROADSHOW was contacted by a viewer who identified the artist of the table as Lee DuSell, an independent designer who lived in Detroit around the same time as Montgomery Ferar. The viewer, who knows DuSell personally and whose family had owned a version of this table, also noted that the original table is in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and can be seen here.   ROADSHOW then reached out to Lee DuSell’s son, Brian, who confirmed that the table was designed by his father and originally created for his parent’s home when they were first married. Brian also said that his father went on to independently craft several more tables of this design and sell them. Lee DuSell said the Sundberg Ferar table is an adapted more-compact version using his legs with a Sundberg Ferar-designed top. More of Lee DuSell’s work can be seen on his website at this link.
