GUEST: Well, um, these are gloves that were worn by General Tom Thumb. And in 1886, they were given by Tom Thumb to his physician in London. And then the doctor then handed them down to his brother-in-law, um, and then they got passed down through generation after generation. So six generations later, um, they're now in our house.
APPRAISER: Yeah, so the gloves belonged to General Tom Thumb. And his real name was Charles Stratton. Uh, Stratton was selected by P.T. Barnum to appear in his shows, uh, and he went on to major stardom as a result of that. Uh, and he was famous for his costumes. And, uh, you see a lot of wedding pictures when he got married.
GUEST: Mm-hmm.
APPRAISER: A matter of fact, there's an image of that wedding picture there. For auction purposes, you'd probably see a, between a $1,200 to $1,800 estimate.
GUEST: Wow.
APPRAISER: So, yeah, it's a really cool item.
GUEST: Yeah. It is.
APPRAISER: And preserved well. I would keep it just as you have, nice and tight in the box.
GUEST: Okay.
APPRAISER: And, uh, it's just wonderful.
GUEST: Well, Great!
