GUEST: I found it down by the Milwaukee River. I was down there hunting for old bottles after they opened the dam up and the water level went down. And I started to dig in the embankment and the ring fell out in my hand.

APPRAISER: The center stone is what looks to be a sapphire, and it's French cut, but in actuality, it's a synthetic sapphire, which has the same physical, chemical and optical properties of the natural, but unfortunately, it's man-made. However, the diamonds are real, as is the metal around it. And the metal around it is white gold done in beautiful piercing work. But it really is amazing that you found this walking along the river.

GUEST: Well, I found about 40 rings altogether.

APPRAISER: Really?

GUEST: Most of them were silver and then I had a synthetic ruby, but this one, I wasn't sure about.

APPRAISER: At auction, it's worth between $150 and $250.

GUEST: Okay, thank you.
