GUEST: I had gone to an estate sale in Miami, and I had seen it in a back room sitting on a table, and I just turned it over and pulled the drawers out and fell in love with it. I paid…um, $50 for it, and it's been at home ever since, and I just love it.
APPRAISER: So you fall in love easily.
GUEST: I do, I do.
APPRAISER: Well, this is – this is a wonderful buy. This is a legitimate early 19th century miniature Federal bureau of American origin. The secondary wood on the piece is – is um, poplar, so I would... I would regionalize it maybe somewhere perhaps the middle Atlantic states. But the beauty of it is that the drawer graduation is accurate, the miniature pulls. It has beautiful oxidation on the underside. Um, this is a sweet piece in that proportionally, it's correct in every detail. And I think in this situation, because of its condition, age and all, probably is worth in the area of about $1,000 or $1,200.
GUEST: Oh, you're kidding!
APPRAISER: So you hit the jackpot at that tag sale.
GUEST: Yay! Thank you so much.
