APPRAISER: Can you tell me who is Walter Jablonski?

GUEST: My father.

APPRAISER: How in the world did he get all of these?

GUEST: He collected them when he was in high school. He was interested in cartoons. He wanted to be a cartoonist. So he would send in a dime, and then he would get cartoons from Walt Disney and a lot of different cartoonists.

APPRAISER: What you have, though, is really the greats of comic strip art. Harold Gray, who created Little Orphan Annie, and his strips are so rare. And so for them to come up at auction or on the private market is very, very unusual. You also have Al Capp, who did Lil' Abner. And this is great because you also have this original strip.

GUEST: Yeah.

APPRAISER: And we have three wonderful Disney strips. Disney had a lot of different artists working for them. Floyd Gottfredson, many, many artists. So these wouldn't have been done by Walt Disney himself. And these are wonderful because they have the original celluloids that created shading on them for the pieces. They've become extraordinarily collectible over the past years. This one is worth about $3,000.

GUEST: Oh, my.

APPRAISER: The Lil' Abner is worth about $1,500 to $2,000. Because Disney is so collectible, and these are all very early 1930 images of Mickey Mouse with the pie cut out of his eye, these would be valued at about $3,000 to $4,000 each. And then we have this little one by Chic Young, and that would sell for about $1,500 to $2,000. So what you brought in today is worth about $15,000 to $20,000.
