GUEST: This is a painting that my grandma bought at an estate sale probably in the 1940s in Minneapolis.

APPRAISER: So this painting is by Hubert Salentin, who is a German artist born in 1822. He was associated with the Düsseldorf school. Very tightly painted, sometimes the palette is very dark. This is head and shoulders above anything that I've ever seen on the market by this particular artist. I think at auction, this piece would probably bring somewhere between $8,000 and $10,000.
