Description of Probe the Brain Activity

screen grab of Probe the Brain

The goal of this activity is to map out the brain's motor cortex. Before you, laying on an operating room table, is a patient. A surgeon has already removed the top of the patient's skull, exposing the brain. Moving your cursor over the motor cortex, highlighted in yellow, causes the pointer on the monitor to change into a probe. Depressing the mouse button lowers the probe until it touches the brain. Depending on the location touched, a body part moves. After the seventeenth and final motor area is found, the patient's body dances to techno music.
