The Wilds of Madagascar
Crystal Cave, Ankarana Reserve QTVR
(click and drag in image, left or right, up or down)

Malagasy guide Angeluc Razafimanantsoa stands deep within Crystal Cave, which bears the most spectacular cavern formations to be found within the Ankarana's 60-plus miles of cave passages. Crystal Cave is also known for the tarantulas that make their home at the cave's entrance. This image was shot in complete darkness using an infrared feature on a Sony digital video camera. The black vertical bands seen in the image are a result of the infrared lighting, which at such distances only illuminated the center portion of the 18 separate photographs used to construct this image.
