Translate ASL

ASL is a complex language that, like any other language, takes time and practice to learn. To give you a flavor of just three simple words, look at the video clips below (each sign will be repeated four times). What do you think the signer is saying? When you're ready to find out, click on the picture for the answer. If you want to see the signs being made again, click on your browser's reload button.

ASL sign #1
ASL sign #2
ASL sign #3

If you want to see a short video clip of the three signs, you'll need one of the (free) software plugins—RealPlayer or QuickTime. If you already have the software, choose an appropriate connection speed or file size to view a clip.
RealVideo: dialup | broadband
QuickTime: 740K
AVI: 740K
