Join GBH Education and NOVA for a professional development webinar highlighting science and history PBS LearningMedia resources for Black History Month.

On February 3rd at 7PM ET, we hosted a professional development webinar with GBH Education highlighting science and history PBS LearningMedia resources for Black History Month lessons and programming and featuring the new NOVA Critical Condition: Health in Black America collection.
In this webinar, we discussed interdisciplinary approaches to teaching content that combine the history of science and medicine, public health, Black history, and bioethics. We were also joined by guest lecturers, Dr. Stephen Sodeke and Cynthia Wilson, from Tuskegee University who explained connections between Black history and bioethics laws today – focusing on the USPHS Study of Untreated Syphilis in Tuskegee and the case of the Henrietta Lacks cell line.
