The film, which examines the disastrous Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico in-depth\u00a0through the eyes of oil executives, survivors, and Gulf Coast residents, will air on <em>Independent Lens<\/em> in the spring of 2015.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<i>The Great Invisible<\/i>\u00a0is timely and provocative. We&#8217;re excited to present the film on PBS and Pivot after its theatrical run,&#8221; said Lois Vossen,\u00a0<i>Independent Lens<\/i>\u00a0senior series producer.\u00a0&#8220;We are especially pleased to again support Margaret Brown, one of our preeminent filmmakers, after working with her on the Peabody Award-winning\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/independentlens\/orderofmyths\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i>The Order of Myths<\/i><\/a>\u00a0(season 7). It&#8217;s also very rewarding to work again with our partners at Participant Media, with whom we&#8217;ve partnered on three previous films.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/review\/great-invisible-sxsw-review-687747\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a>&#8216;s John DeFore calls the film:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;[A] powerful documentary that reminds those of us who&#8217;ve moved on to other worries that this one is far from finished \u2014\u00a0and that a government that proclaimed outrage during the summer of 2010 has seemingly done little to prevent or prepare for another such catastrophe.
